Formation Group

As we explore spiritual formation this fall as a community, we are putting together a six-week group that will journey together into the heart of Christian spirituality. Using David Benner’s book Surrender to Love as a guide, we will read together and explore how intellectual knowing can deepen into a knowing of the soul. We will consider how our actual human lives become the place where we experience and are shaped by the love of God for the good of the world.

The group will meet on Sundays at 10:15-11:15 am from October 4 through November 8 (location at FWS; room TBD). You can expect weekly readings (chapters are short but substantive), and the Sunday gatherings will include space for reflection, discussion, as well as practices we can try out together.
