The Practices of Solitude & Silence

We find ourselves living in a noisy, overstimulated, and hurried culture.

Could it be the deep peace and stillness our hearts and souls long for will only be found by stepping away from the noise, entertainment, and hurry?

Join us as we engage practices of solitude and silence on the beautiful campus of Concordia Seminary.

For the stimulation addicts in all of us, this will be a challenging experience. It will also be highly restful, rejuvenating, and revealing.

Each person will have their own room within a campus dorm. After receiving brief moments of guidance, participants will enter into stretches of intentional solitude and silence. The campus features many places to walk and sit that are quiet and highly conducive to reflection. Participants will be encouraged to use this time as a break from phones and screens.

This experience will last approximately 16 hours. The retreats will begin with dinner at 6p on Friday and will conclude around 10a on Saturday.

To reserve your spot for April 11th-12th, April 25th-26th, or May 9th-10th, fill out the form below.

This is a small group experience and space is limited. We have room for approximately 8-12 people at each date.

Thanks to the mental health grant we’ve received, the cost of this experience has been covered.
